Farmers Bank & Trust NA has a colorful history dating back to it's beginning in 1907, in Albert, Kansas. Early day founders could sense the need for a financial institution and started the bank with $10,000.00 in capital. The bank opening was delayed some sixty days because of the 'money panic' of 1907. Even during the "Dirty Thirties", the bank continued its service by not closing until the federal government declared the bank holiday.
Some important dates in the past 25 years include:
| 1977: The bank opened a loan production office and an ATM in Great Bend to serve the borrowing needs of the bank's many customers from that community. | ||
| September 1986: Farmers Bank & Trust NA purchased the assets of the failed Home State Bank, establishing a full service branch in La Crosse, Kansas. | ||

The bank's total assets equal approximately $575 million and continued growth is the goal of Farmers Bank & Trust. During the past ninety-seven years the bank's capital account has multiplied many times from $10,000.00 in 1907 to its current level of over $50 million for the Bank and Holding Company. Farmers Bank & Trust fosters growth and prosperity in the many communities it serves, including it's latest commitment, Johnson County.
The bank continues to assist farmers, small businessmen, building contractors and individuals with the same friendly, high-quality service it did in 1907. Farmers Bank & Trust steeped in tradition but with modern technology, is anticipating the growth of the Johnson County branch into a larger regional bank.
